Plot Outline: A dramatization of George Washingtons perilous gamble of crossing the Delaware River and attacking the British forces at Trenton.
Plot: In 1776, less than six months after the Declaraton of Independence, the Continental Army, under the command of General George Washington, was on the brink of utter defeat. Low on men, cannons and supplies, Washington decides to risk everything on one last desperately daring attack on the town of Trenton where over 1000 of the feared Hessian mercenaries are garrisoned. However to do that, the army must cross the Delaware to a seemingly hopeless battle that would turn out to be more successful than Washington ever dreamed of.

(And indeed, in a later scene we see it fully dark at 5:10 pm on December 25).

Plot: After 18 months Sam returns to his place of birth. He wants to ask his girlfriend Meg who he had let down when he left, to go with him to the big city. However Meg was deeply sad because of Sams leaving, that she had started a relation with his best friend Johnny. At the night of Sams unexpected return, Johhny asks Meg to marry him. Meg is forced to make a choice! That Saturday night, Meg and a desperate and drunk Johhny deceide to escape from their dancing night. The only problem is, that Sam at that same time leaves the village to go to the big city and he pursues them. In this tragical night, two cars are racing on the freeway on their way to the level crossing and a frontal car accident…
