Once upon a time, before cell phones, DVD, Blu-Ray, even VHS, PS1, PS2, PS3… you get it, before a lot of the stuff we have now, we had The Muppets. But 12 years ago, The Muppets sort of just vanished off the face of the earth.

So now, 12 years later, with the magic help of Jason Segel(a huge Muppet fan), the Muppets are back in their prime form in the new film The Muppets, a hilariously charming new film which brings the gang back together for a reunion that was well needed.

Segel plays Gary. Gary, with his fiancé Mary(the always chipper Amy Adams), and Walter, Gary’s brother(a puppet), the #1 Muppet fan, go to see the original Muppet theater. Once there, Walter finds out that Tex Richman(the diabolical Chris Cooper), a tycoon, is going to destroy the theater and dig for oil. So The trio tracks down Kermit the Frog and the rest of the gang in an attempt to save their careers, and their memory.

The Muppets is a wonderful film. People can say that they don’t like The Muppets, but they would be stupid. These are all characters that we’ve grown to love. All characters that are fun and funny. It was about time that Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Beaker, and the rest of the goofy gang came back.

Jason Segel’s respect level just boosted in my book. I LOVE how much he loves The Muppets. He loves them so much that he wrote a movie about them, brought them back, and even made a new Muppet character that loves The Muppets. It’s really adorable.

The songs, such as Man or Muppet, are adorable. Considering that since The Muppets have gone off the face of the earth, we’ve had movies like Hostel, Saw, Antichrist… movies that have a lot of sex and violence. Don’t get me wrong, I like some of those movies. But it’s nice to see a nice movie with nice characters.

The film stays true to their characters, and the movies. I enjoyed the cameos from Jack Black, Rashida Jones, and Emily Blunt. The film is hilarious and extremely heartfelt. I really loved this film. I hope that this isn’t the last we see of them. This is the Muppet film we’ve waited and deserved.
